Series Overview
In part one in this series we revealed the abstract and methodology of the study and then the ten things we learned in part two. In part three we looked at the types of assessments, trends and observations, tips for buyers, and tips for sellers. We’re finishing up the series today in part four with the data from the 90-day study where we racked up 450+ hours watching demos, asking questions, and working to understand the business model and technical approach of 110 companies.

Survey
Over the course of a 90 day period (Ending on 5 September 2019), we collected survey responses from 542 individuals. We used email lists to target HR executives. We did not purchase any responses. The breakdown of participants looks like:
- CHRO and Vice President of HR: 30%
- Director Talent Acquisition: 12%
- Recruiting: 17%
- L&D: 9%
- People Analytics: 4%
- Other: 28%
Survey data was collected in Euroope (22%) and the US (78%). The survey was sent to approximately 50,000 HR professionals and leaders in the US and 16,000 in the UK and Europe.
Interviews
We spent 450 hours watching demos, asking questions and working to understand the business model and technical approach of 110 companies. Each conversation devoted a significant amount of time to the following issues:
- Business formation and scaling
- Fundamental Value Proposition
- Ethics in AI
- Working Mechanics of the Offering
The interviews took place by video conference and are recorded in the HRExaminer archives.
