Company Description
Mya is one of the best-known recruiting chatbot companies. They were early to the market and have built momentum rapidly. They are different from the rest of the pure chatbot providers because they recognize the complexities of each type of conversation.
Like all intelligent tools, chatbots work best in narrowly defined circumstances. It turns out that the definition of the type of conversation, its limits and outcomes, determines the extent and complexity of the implementation. Within the bounds of the recruiting process, Mya’s core roadmap involves defining, mapping, developing and executing all of the various kinds of conversations.
The company uses a combination of NLP, ML and a conversational interface to try to deliver open-ended conversations that develop deep trust with its users. They are building a massive database of conversational interactions that informs their automated interpretation of the meaning of questions.
The company is leading the industry in evolving the understanding of support requirements. That is, how do you staff the questions that the chatbot can’t answer.
The company believes that the long-range future of candidate experience involves the ability to match candidates to the right opportunities within the labor market.
Why This Matters
The chatbot space is cluttered with overly simple implementations that give little thought to the implementation and ethical consequences of individual implementations. Mya exemplifies the part of intelligent tool development that learns from doing.
