Company Description

Founders Stacy Chapman and Satish Sallakonda are long term veterans of the Silicon Valley Human Capital Management network. With substantial experience at Peoplesoft, Oracle, and Aruspex, they’ve built the company to solve longstanding and emerging industry problems. Data sourcing, quality and control are at the heart of
this enterprise.

Most current customers are part of the sourcing market, the acquisition and consumption of information about potential employees from internal and external data sets. SwoopTalent is using the nearly infinite data involved in sourcing to perfect the more important part of its business: the automation of data governance.

Today’s serious organizational efforts to deploy intelligent tools usually involve a data lake. A revolutionary extension of the data mining concept prevalent at the turn of the century, a data lake might be best understood as a trash heap of data. The material comes unsorted and largely uncategorized. The data lake provides storage for data so that ML, NLP and other data consuming tools have a central place to refer to.

The core SwoopTalent project involves building a layer of tools that recognize generic commonalities between large chunks of data. This should reduce or eliminate the need for politically charged data governance initiatives.

Currently, SwoopTalent does a spectacular job of managing the quality of large volumes of sourcing data.

Why This Matters

The real leaders in the HRTech Intelligent Tools industry are companies that simultaneously solve a current problem while building deeper capabilities for problems that will obviously emerge in the near-term future. SwoopTalent is virtually alone in solving the real time problem associated with using disparate data sets to drive intelligent tools effectiveness. This is a great example of a company that uses its business development process to drive the value created at the heart of the business.
