This hits the nerve most leadership content avoids. Managing is about compliance on clear days. Leadership is about courage when visibility drops and the consequences are real. When fear replaces integrity, people don’t get led, they get pushed. The taillights metaphor is exactly right, from behind it looks easy, from the front it’s lonely, risky, and unavoidable.
